Affiliate Marketing Software for E-Commerce Sites

Updated: 4 min read

What Is Affiliate Marketing (Partner Program)?

One way an e-commerce site can earn revenue is through affiliate marketing (a partner program). So what is affiliate marketing? How is this revenue-sharing model applied to online stores?

Today there are many YouTubers and Instagram creators with large audiences. In short, affiliate marketing starts when those creators share a unique link to your site on their channels. When visitors arrive through that link and purchase from your site, the partner who referred them earns a commission on the sale at a rate you define. That is why the model is also called a revenue-sharing arrangement.

Referrals can target your domain as a whole or specific products. Softomi’s affiliate system includes an advanced panel where all activity is tracked and reported. Both the site administrator and each partner can monitor their data easily in their own dashboards.

What Features Does Softomi’s Affiliate Partner Program Offer?

We can explain the features of Softomi’s affiliate (partner program) software with a simple example.

Suppose I join your site as a partner and create a product-level link after logging in—for example something like abc.com/serdar with a tracking token in the product path.

When someone clicks that link, the site handles the following scenarios:

  • If the visitor buys the linked product, commission is calculated and, after your approval, credited to the partner.
  • If they buy a different product instead, the system still recognizes the visitor and, with your approval, credits the appropriate commission to the partner.
  • If they buy the linked product plus another item, commission is calculated on both amounts and, after your approval, credited to the partner.
  • Even if the person leaves abc.com and ends the session on that computer or phone, when they return—whether they type the URL directly, find you via Google, or do not use the affiliate link again—once they log back in with their account, the system remembers they arrived through my (e.g. Serdar) referral and, with your approval, attributes their purchases to the partner account.
  • As long as the user does not clear the device storage, the system keeps recognizing them and, after your approval, continues attributing their orders to the partner.
  • If another person logs in on the same device with their own customer account and shops, that order can also be attributed to the relevant partner after your approval. Because the system keeps device-level attribution and your customer effectively referred someone they know, attributing a third party’s purchase to the original partner under this logic can be reasonable.
  • If that third party later shops from a different device where no affiliate cookie exists yet, the system does not attribute that purchase to the partner until that device has entered at least once through an affiliate link.

What the Site Administrator Can Do

Alongside the flows above, the administrator can manage the following from the admin panel:

  1. Create sales records
  2. Approve partner applications
  3. Edit partner profiles
  4. Post positive or negative balance adjustments to a partner
  5. View order flow generated through partners
  6. Broadcast announcements to partners
  7. Review commission history
  8. View and manage partner requests to transfer balance to a customer account
  9. Attach a partner to an order or remove a partner from an order
  10. Attach a customer to a partner or detach a customer from a partner
  11. Apply shipping-fee penalties to a partner
  12. Create and edit a custom site link for a partner (visitors arriving through it earn commission for that partner)

What the Sales Partner Can Do

From the partner (affiliate) dashboard, partners can:

  1. Use a dedicated partner panel
  2. See the list of customers linked to them
  3. See products in orders from linked customers
  4. Review commission flow
  5. Link a customer to themselves by email address
  6. Generate product- and category-specific affiliate links
  7. Copy affiliate links quickly
  8. Transfer earned commission to a customer account (after admin approval)
  9. Add or edit bank account details
  10. Use balance and “confirmed balance” rules (partners can withdraw roughly 90% of earned commission while ~10% may remain blocked in the system)
  11. View a list of payouts received
